The folks at Baeble Music shot this live footage of Brooklyn’s Dead Leaf Echo at the Knitting Factory playing “Language of the Waves,” a track on their forthcoming album, Thought and Language, which Neon Sigh Records will release on March 5th. The album is a concept album with a rather interesting concept – the album’s songs offer a narrative that follows a a child from conception through birth, to his eventual grasp of thought and language.

In particular, this track because of it’s dreamy, reverb drenched guitars reminds me quite a bit of the Verve’s shoegazing debut, A Storm in Heaven – and it is at times, just as hauntingly eerie.
