The San Francisco, CA-based quintet of Scissors For Lefty have quickly won over the segments of the blogosphere for a sound that employs elements of 70s glam rock, 80s synth rock and synth pop with an art rock sheen, and for lyrics about hot and heavy romance and the counter-culture life. In fact, the band’s latest single off their soon-to-be released full-length Bangs and Lashes,“Werewolf” manages to sound dimly familiar and dimly alien in a way that’s difficult to pinpoint – there’s elements of Pulp, The Killers, David Bowie and others, complete with a dramatic flair, while being slickly produced.
