“Mr. Excitement,” the great Jackie Wilson was born on this day 90 years ago. His all too short, 20-plus year music career was massive influential on an impressive array of important artists including James Brown, Michael Jackson, Teddy Pendergrass and Elvis Presley — all of whom cited Wilson has influencing their stage show in some way or another. Plus, that man’s vocal range was insane.
Happy birthday, Mr. Excitement! Happy birthday, wherever you are!
