Waiting for Something to Happen, which Slumberland Records released earlier this year across North America, is the gorgeous sophomore effort from Veronica Falls. “Broken Toys” is the third and latest single off the band’s latest effort, and from it’s shimmering guitars, pretty little melodies and sense of harmony, the track sounds as though it were owes quite a debt to Phil Spector produced songs from the 1960s. Whereas the previous tracks felt entirely ethereal, “Broken Toys” is a little bit more earthy and has more of a anxious energy – all while expressing a somewhat dysfunctional, devotion.
