Winnipeg, Manitoba-based sextet Royal Canoe has developed a reputation for crafting a seamless musical pastiche, as well as being influenced by the extremities of the weather in their hometown — bitter cold winters and hot summers under larger than normal skies…"Bathtubs" was the first single from their debut effort,Today We’re Believers, which was released last month. The track is interesting because you’ll hear a rather anthemic chorus, backed by stirring strings, jangling keys, and chiming percussion. It’s a catchy pop tune with an equally infectious hook, and a larger than life sound. And it’s bridge, up until the conclusion takes on a bit of buzzing electronica to the mix, giving the song a sense of playfully deft genre mashing, You’ll find yourself singing along, I promise.

The video has a ton of surreal, cartoonish bit of imagery, and it makes the video a helluva lot of fun.
