2013 may well be a huge year for Stones Throw Records‘s Dam Funk. The summer saw the release of Dam Funk’s incredible collaboration with Slave’s Steve Arrington. However, December marks what may be his biggest collaboration with — a collaboration with the legendary Snoop Dogg, in a new group that both artists have dubbed, 7 Days of Funk. Their self-titled debut effort will see a December 10th release. And from the first single off the album, “Faden Away,” the track sounds as though it mixes G Funk era funk with Snoop Dogg’s “Sexual Eruption.” It’s funky and seductive as hell — and it sounds as though it could have been released in 1983 as easily as it could have been released today.

So we got some live footage of Snoop and Dam Funk performing their first single as 7 Days of Funk on Jimmy Kimmel Live, I think from the footage it’s pretty obvious that Snoop is one of the smoothest brothers on the face of the earth. And you can’t go wrong without a little keytar action.
