Ariel, Sarah, Nora and Rose Parkington have grown up with music in their lives as they’re the daughters of a prog rock musician, and a classically trained guitarist and singer/songwriter. Raised in Cape Cod, MA the sisters played and wrote music as long as they could remember, and instead of doing what normal kids in the area did over the summer – working summer jobs, cleaning houses or performing in high-brow orchestras they busked as a band on the streets of Provincetown.
Over the last four years, the Parkington Sisters have shared stages with the likes of Mavis Staples, Bruce Springsteen, Dispatch and the Dropkick Murphys at shows across North America, including Radio City Music Hall. And with a tour across the Eastern Seaboard to build up buzz for their next full-length effort slated for a 2014 release, there’s a sense of the sibling quartet bursting out into the national scene.
“Inside My Head” is the first single off the band’s Inside My Head EP –it uses a buzzing synthesizer line which bears a resemblance to an accordion, hand claps and an incredible bit of harmony by the sisters. It’s an incredibly upbeat song with a rather infectious hook.
