As a blogger and as an overall music fan, there are several labels I admire for their output and their consistency – Volcom Entertainment, is one of them, especially when it comes to hearing stuff that simply kicks ass. Volcom recently released two split 7" records as part of their Vinyl Club. Los Angeles-based bands the Shrine and Zig Zags contribute a song for their split 7.“

The Shrine’s "Spit in My Life” brings back so many memories for me – of punk rock shows at the Continental with my dear friend Jill; Coney Island High; of drinking way too much at Sophie’s, the Library or some super seedy Lower East Side dive bar. It’s three chord rock, with explosive drums and lyrics that are screamed about but fuck, it kicks ass.
