As I’ve frequently mentioned here, I’ve received an increasing number of emails from a number of labels. PR firms, band managers and artists from all over the world – and it makes my endeavors to present and cover music from an international/global perspective a reality, as well as much easier. I recently heard from the Brisbane, Australia-born and Toronto, ON-based electronic artist Mallory Scott. Scott’s latest single “Levitate” consists of ominously buzzing synths, swirling electronics, skittering percussion and Scott’s plaintive vocals floating through the mix. The song evokes a late night, anxious and unsettling sense of regret just under the song’s gently rippling surface.
