Brooklyn-based quartet Hints is a band that specializes in a sound that should sound familiar – with it’s shimmering guitars, upbeat tempo and deceptively somber lyrics, and heart on it’s sleeve sincerity, it’s extremely reminiscent of the Smiths. I think you’ll hear the same when you play both tracks – “Cher Ami” and “Solstice" on their latest Hints Vol. 2. Ah, the New Wave days, eh?
