Electro pop act, Hot Chip originally stated as a bunch of Brits who wanted to create great dance music but eventually they wound up hooking up with and collaborating with LCD Soundsystem and the DFA Records folks. In fact, the members of LCD Soundsystem, DFA Records and Hot Chip collaborated in a number of various projects – including this new side project, New Build featuring Hot Chip founder, Felix Martin and former LCD Soundsystem member Al Doyle, along with electronic composer Tom Hopkins.

“False Thing” is the latest single from the band’s debut effort, Yesterday Was Lived and Lost and it’s a dark, trippy track that is extremely reminiscent of Peter Gabriel – at least to me. And the video is an equally trippy affair.
