Formed by Australian expat Tim Evans, who was previously known for his work in Bird Blobs and the reincarnation of Venom P. Stinger, the Brooklyn-based trio of DeGreaser have become an integral part of New York’s psych rock scene with the release of their two previous efforts, Bottom Feeder and Sweaty Hands; however, as you’ll hear on “Words In Your Mouth,” the first single from the band’s third and latest album Rougher Squalor, the trio have refined their sound becoming more of a traditional psych rock power trio with towering squalls of blistering, almost acidic feedback and distortion and thunderous drumming. It sounds like a kaleidoscopic acid trip – but with an underlying sense of menace just below the surface.
