Hollls Brown’s latest effort Ride on the Train was released yesterday through Alive Records, and to mark the occasion the band’s second single “Walk on Water” was released. Sonically, the song takes cues from Credence Clearwater Revival, Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Allman Brothers Band – the classic, 60s and 70s southern rock sound, basically. And in some way, they’ll be both fairly and unfairly compared to the Black Keys and the Sheepdogs. It’s a warmly familiar sound but it’ll make you get up and dance at your desk, i’m sure.

Like about half a million other bands, they’ll be playing at SXSW before hitting the road – and you can catch them here in NYC on March 30th at the Mercury Lounge
