If there’s one thing everyone who loves music knows, it’s this: Chris Robinson is the most soulful white guy on the face of the entire planet. Last night, Robinson was Soulive’s special guest for their continuing Bowlive residency at Brooklyn Bowl and it may have been the best live set I’ve seen this year so far, as Robinson and Soulive started their set with an Otis Redding cover, which was bold but done with incredible justice – and ended with the most soulful cover of The Rolling Stones’ “Gimme Shelter” I’ve ever heard. It ain’t the best footage ever but at the very least, you’ll hear how amazing it sounded.
