If you truly love hip-hop, you truly love the great J. Dilla. And although it’s been 8 years since his untimely passing, his work still manages to move fans and be relevant in a way that few contemporary producers can claim. Now back in 2001. Dilla started to collaborate with a number of his fellow hip-hop producers, including Supa Dave West.

it’s taken over a decade for all of this material to be released but the first single is Dilla’s collaboration with Supa Dave West “The Doe,” off the posthumous Give ‘Em What They Want EP; however, this is the original version that Supa Dave West had worked on and released, just before Dilla’s completely reworked rendition. Still, it’s an incredibly slick track that explodes form your speakers with funk.
