Jeremy Malvin writes, records, performs and produces under the moniker of Chrome Sparks, and as Chrome Sparks, Malvin has quickly developed a reputation for a sound that manages to mesh drum ‘n’ bass, ambient hip-hop, synth pop and a variety of other things. And as you’ll hear on “The Meaning of Love,” the second single off his recently released Goddess EP, the track consists of swirling electronics around an instrumental sample that has had it’s pitch altered and played with in a way that the songs unfurls and undulates towards the listeners. Although cinematic the song also manages to be intimate in the sense that as a listener, the track sounds like perfect headphone music – and with the right headphones (or speakers) you’ll notice layers upon layers of hidden nuance that slowly reveal themselves.
