Last week, I was at Bushwick’s Purgatory to catch local post-punks Spirits of Leo play a headlining show. Los Angeles-based JOVM mainstays Taleen Kali and local JOVM mainstays Russian Baths opened.

Now, if you’re wondering: Yes, I went to this show instead of watching the Toronto Blue Jays and New York Yankees American League Division Series game at home. But I watched — in exasperation and annoyance — on my phone. What a way to end a season. . .
