Marchelle Bradanini performs and records under the moniker Pony Boy, and she’s won over a number of critics, bloggers and fans with her sultry, smoky voice backed by twangy, old-time country guitars. “Greatest Unknown” is her latest single and it has a eerie, unsettling and dusty sort of beauty. She refers to her sound as junkyard country and in some way, it does remind me of some of the more sparsely arranged country of the 1950s – think of some of Johnny Cash’s early work and you’ll get what I mean.

She’s got a couple of shows coming up – March 23rd in Birmingham, AL; April 8th in Phoenix, AZ; and April 9th, in Los Angeles, CA.
