New Audio: JOHN DORIAN Shares Shimmering “LOVE I REMEMBER”

During the pandemic, herMajesty founder and frontman JP decided to set the project aside indefinitely and let something else take shape: his newest project JOHN DORIAN. With JOHN DORIAN, he has the freedom to write without a fixed band and to let each song find its own company of musicians.

That freedom led JP to The Church‘s Marty Willson-Piper, who contributes lead guitar to his Julian Harris co-written, Michael Beinhorn-produced JOHN DORIAN debut single “LOVE I REMEMBER.” Featuring additional contributions from Harris (acoustic guitar, bass and keys), Sirintip “Tippan” Phashuk (backing vocals) and Konrad Meissner (drums, percussion), “LOVE I REMEMBER” channels JP’s work wth herMajesty — while being simultaneously hook-driven, unguarded and vulnerable.

The song is partially shaped by Rilke’s “First Duino Elegy” and the difficult questions underneath it — namely. what it really means to surrender, to love without condition, especially when doing so requires giving up the illusion and the comfort of control.
