More than enough ink has been spilled on the incredibly lengthy and influential career and music of Stevie Wonder — and more than enough has been said about “Superstition,” one of the most beloved, often covered songs of the 70s.
Lliam Taylor is a wunderkind, West Coast producer, electronic music artist and DJ, who first received attention performing under the moniker Kezwik — and as Kezwik, Taylor toured with Datsik and had a record land at #1 on Beatport’s Dubstep chart. Interestingly, in a short period of time, the young producer has actively made sure that his work is impossible to pigeonhole, as he’s been broadening his sound to embrace other electronic styles. Interestingly, over the course of this year, Taylor has been focusing on house music and has remixed Defunk’s “Saturday Night” and Craig David‘s “Fill Me In.”
Taylor’s latest release is a remix Stevie Wonder’s famous song that retains Wonder’s recognizable vocal and pairs them with stuttering and skittering percussion, layers of lush, shimmering synths and swirling electronics that feels more like a modernized re-working complete with big drops and a propulsive and danceable groove.
