Le Bon Jams is a London-based dance pop/electronic dance pop quartet features an acclaimed collection of British music scene veterans, including:
- James New, the former frontman of Mumm-ra and a hit songwriter for the likes of Dua Lipa, RAYE and Sugarbabes
- Joe Brown, a Grammy-nominated producer, who hans worked with Låpsley, Tkay Maidza, Gabriels and CASSIDEAD
- Laura Welsh, a former Polydor Records artist, known for co-writing Gorgon City‘s “Here for You” and collaborations with John Legend, the bird and the bee’s Greg Kurstin and Armin van Buuren
- Frank Colucci, a multi-instrumentalist and producer, who has worked with Tom Grennan, Ashnikko, Ethel Cain, Oh Wonder
Last year was a breakthrough year for the collective, which blends live instrumentation and analog synths with modern, electronic production: They received airplay and support from BBC Radio 1‘s Arielle Free and Jess Iszatt, KISS FM‘s Mark Night, Leftwing : Kody, TSHA, Don Diablo and The Magician. Building up on a growing profile, Le Bon Jams’ latest single “What U Need” is a dance floor anthem that pairs punchy beats, bursts of Larry Levan-like keys, and a chopped up, euphoric vocal hook. The result is a much-needed joy bomb of a song that has a lovingly retro-feel while anchored around slick, contemporary production.
“We wanted to craft something joyous, soulful, and retro in its melody—yet heavy-hitting and club-ready in its production,” the London-based quartet explain. “‘What U Need’ is the dance anthem we didn’t know we were missing. Whether you’re looking for a sonic escape or a serious groove, this one’s best enjoyed loud.”
Le Bon Jams’ highly anticipated debut EP is slated for June 2025 release — and it will feature the new single.
