While I was covering Taste of Sunnyside for the Queens Ledger, I learned that Sunnyside Shines Business Improvement District (BID) hosts one of the biggest Day of the Dead ceremonies in the entire city. The ceremonies began in Long Island City’s 12th Street Public Plaza, which is also home to Focal Point Beer Company. They went on to Jackson Heights, before ending in Sunnyside as the sun was setting.
