Sub Pop Records will be releasing the London-based duo, Still Corners’ sophomore effort Strange Pleasures on May 7th. “Berlin Lovers,” the first single off the album has the band gently expanding their sound with a greater emphasis on the use of synths – in some way, it takes on the influence of the efficient and minimalist electronica of Kraftwerk. Teresa Murray vocals are breathy and ethereal, and feel as though they’re floating through the mix.
The official video which was produced by Christian Sorensen Hansen has band members Teresa Murray and Greg Hughes as employees of a local roller skating rink, where a young couple that kind of resembles (in passing) Hughes and Murray fall in love.
The band will be opening for CHVRCHES on their European and North American tours. The North American tour will include stops in Portland, OR; San Francisco, CA; Los Angeles, CA; San Diego, CA; Austin, TX; Dallas, TX; Lawrence, KS; Minneapolis, MN; Chicago, IL; Toronto, ON; two NYC area dates – June 17 at Webster Hall and June 18 at Music Hall of Williamsburg, and several other venues.
