The London-based Cold Specks (whose name comes from a line in James Joyce’s classic novel, Ulysses) will be embarking on their first headlining North American tour next week with a stop at Mercury Lounge on November 8th, and in celebration of that achievement of the band is released the video for “Hector,” the next single off the band’s debut effort, I Predict A Graceful Explosion. Led by Al Spyx, who is originally from Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada, the band specializes in a what they describe as “doom soul,” as their music draws heavily from folk and gospel – and you can hear it from Spyx’s incredible vocals.
It also helps that the video is perfect for Halloween – it seems to imply that the bride in the video kills her newlywed bride. Creepy, eh?
