The Orlando, FL-based quintet (sometimes sextet) Day Joy, originally started off as a duo Peter Michael Perceval and Michael Serrin. Many of the songs they wrote during acoustic jam sessions and the material wound up being their debut effort, released through Small Plates Records, Go To Sleep Mess. They recently were named one of Florida’s 10 Bands You Should Listen to Now, by Paste Magazine

They recently released the video for their single, the album title track, “Go To Sleep Mess.” The video illustrates the song’s heartbreaking lyrics which details struggle and addiction through the two seemingly separate lives of a boy and a young man. However, once you see that the boy and the young man are one in the same, the video has the devastating sadness of a life unnecessarily shortened and wasted.
