The Stockholm, Sweden-based trio, Kriget (means “The War" in Swedish) play a highly challenging, experimental music that defies all known genre conventions. Starting off with the sound of a static, a buzzing fly, followed by heavy, stomping drums before blasts of a wailing saxophone, howling ambient noises and propulsive bass, “Sleeping With Buddha" is the first single from their long awaited and aptly named full-length effort, Dystopico. And why is the album title so apt? Well, in the case of “Sleeping with Buddha,’ the track throbs and undulates with menace, and sounds like the sort of soundtrack to a Mad Max-like movie in which the mostly mute characters howl and stomp around to a roaring bonfire… 

Interestingly, the video follows a lone motorcyclist in a hot, arid land. If it wasn’t for the cars driving by on the overpass (you’ll see it in a certain shot) the video is shot as though he’s the last man on earth as surreal things happen – the burning cart being pulled by a donkey; and the end where our video’s protagonist spits out a black cloud of smoke.
