w

Today is the 22nd day of Black History Month. I tend to use this time as a way to remind readers – and everyone else of a couple of important facts:

  • You can’t love Black artists and their work, and not see them as people
  • Black lives — and Black art matters
  • Black culture is American culture

Today, I wanted to celebrate the legendary Al Green, the king of soul and of love songs. Honestly, if you haven’t heard an Al Green love song, you don’t know shit about love or about real love songs. Your grandparents and your parents have loved these songs — and you do, too.
