Unless you’ve lived in a Tibetan monastery or in a cave, you’re likely familiar with the song “Fever,” even if you didn’t know who the original vocalist was who did the song; after all, the song has been endlessly covered by a variety of beloved artists, lesser-knowns and amateurs. In the case of Patty Drew, Drew achieved some brief success as a pop singer in the late 60s with a couple of singles here and there, and her rendition of “Fever” appears on her album, I’ve Been Here All the Time

DJ Fleg remixed the classic single, making it even more soulful – and funkier. Drew’s vocals are subtly fed through reverb when she sings the song’s refrain but it’s the addition of an incredibly adept, great, era-specific horn line and bass line that wraps themselves around Drew’s incredible vocal.
