Up-and-coming Orlando, FL-based label, Relief in Abstract, the label home of XXYYXX, will be releasing Fortune Howl’s latest instrumental effort, Earthbound on July 30th. The album reportedly focuses on the frailty of human existence, and the folly of ambition; after all, whenever we’re all forced to face our own mortality, we’re forced to think about the totality of our lives – from our failed and successful relationships, to whether our ambitions was truly worth it. “Vision Quest,” the first single off the new album is full of industrial clang and clatter, ambient noises, and although it owes a debt to drum and bass in it’s deceptive simplicity, it manages an emotional heft. In some way, it feels forlorn and with the sad recognition that all things, including ambition will eventually be forgotten …
