VYIE’s debut effort Nightingale saw it’s official release from Post Echo Records yesterday and to celebrate the occasion, the band released the second single from the EP, “Johnny.” I think both singles are representative of the band’s sound – it manages to possess a tension between dense, lush arrangements and an icy, stark minimalism. I also love the interplay of the harmonies between Jessi Monroe and Janey Criss.

Certainly, this track will bear some comparisons to Zambri‘s House of Bassa – the melodies and hooks are infectious are just as infectious.
