Wax Witches and The Blind Shake

Back on Thanksgiving Eve, I was at Baby’s All Right for an early evening of music from the Brooklyn-based trio of Wax Witches, whose melodic punk reminded me a little bit of the likes of Cheap Trick and Husker Du, and the Minneapolis, MN-based trio of The Blind Shake, whose muscular chug reminded me quite a bit of Motorhead and several of their labelmates at Goner Records – including the OBN III’s, and Ex-Cult.
