With members based in Berlin, Germany and here in NYC, the quartet of Fenster originally formed in the winter of 2010; however, they recorded their debut effort, Bones without playing a live set together.
The Pink Caves, the band’s sophomore effort, much like their debut effort has the quartet employing the use of guitars, shovels, malfunctioning circuits, drums and guitars to create an eerily haunting bit of pop that some critics have compared to the Velvet Underground – in particular, the Velvet Underground with Nico, perhaps, as you’ll hear on the band’s latest single “Mirrors.” Still, the two most affecting things about the song is the gorgeous melody and the vocals that sound as though they’d dissipate into the air like smoke.
