As I’ve mentioned about 1,000 times before, lately I’ve been receiving an enormous amount of emails from bands and labels from across the US, Canada, UK, Australia New Zealand and other far-flung places across our pale blue dot. Recently, I received an email from the Vicenza, italy-based musician and songwriter, who goes by the name Panda Kid.
Although he’s largely influenced by a number of various things including African music, Indian music, psychedelic and indie rock, among others, his sound takes on a scuzzy, lo-fi, garage-rock sort of psychedelica that’s interestingly enough, bears a bit of a resemblance to Is This It?-era the Strokes as though they were covering New Order, as you’ll hear on “Symmetry,” the album title track from Symmetry, which Already Dead Records released earlier this year.
