As you can imagine, as a blogger I frequently get inundated with emails from PR firms, labels and bands and there’s admittedly a wild variety of the good, the bad, the mediocre, and the absolutely terrible. But on occasion, you hear something so absolutely awesome that you feel compelled to tell the entire world about your discovery. So when I heard Metz’s “Dirty Shirt,” from their “Dirty Shirt/Leave Me Out” digital single which will be released on December 4th, and from the band’s self titled, Sub Pop Records release, I was blown away.  This particular track sounds a bit like a mix between Nirvana and A Place to Bury Strangers – the power chords are played with a sludgy but ass kicking and taking name intensity. Play this one loud and start moshing y’all!
