Chelsea Lankes is a Texas-born and Los Angeles, CA-based electro pop artist whose first single this year “Down For Whatever,” a slow-burning, sensual yet anthemic pop song that captures a youthful desire to live just for this moment has received airplay from KCRW, KXRN and KYSR in Los Angeles and a New Music Tuesday nod from the folks at Spotify.

Pop duo Carousel recently remixed the track, turning the track into the sort of synth-based R&B and pop you would have heard on Quiet Storm back in the day but with propulsive, skittering percussion and dramatic synths paired with Lankes’s seductive crooning. But the more I’ve listened to the song, the more the song sounds as though it should have been released through Cascine Records, as they’ve quickly developed a reputation for releasing contemporary synth pop that draws from 80s R&B and synth pop.

In any case, the song and Lankes’ vocals are so seductive that you’ll be drawn into the song.
