Comprised of Bret Bender and Madeleine Miller, the Los Angeles, CA-based electro pop duo Bogan Via’s sophomore effort full-length effort, Madly reportedly has the band further developing the synth-pop sound that has won them quite a bit of attention. Within a short period of time the duo embarked on an European tour and made several appearances at Insomnia FestivalSan Diego Music ThingViva Phx Festival and Summer Ends. They’ve opened for the likes of Little DragonTodd TerjeDarwin DeezTwin ShadowAustraYacht, and others. And they’ve had singles remixed by GeographerMiniature Tigers, Database and others.

Along with that, the duo has seen their profile grow as their debut effort was released to critical praise across the blogosphere – in particular, they’ve seen praise from the likes of Consequence of Sound, My Old Kentucky Blog and others. And I think that “Gatsby,” one of the first singles off the Madly will likely help to expand the band’s presence nationally and internationally, as the song is comprised of thick, pulsating and cascading layers of synths, eerie harmonies between Bender and Miller, and mathematically precise drum programming. In some way, the song evokes a sense of anxious, uneasy claustrophobia – you can feel the walls closing in around you.
