Comprised of brothers Martin and Mads Rehof, Jacob van Deurs Formann and Frederik Lind Köppen, the young. Danish quartet of Communions have received international attention for a shimmering and plaintive pop songs about youthful naivety. Following up the release of the “So Long Sun” 7 inch, their forthcoming, self-titled EP, slated for a June 2 release will likely cement their reputation for plaintive 80s-inspired pop while subtly expanding upon their sound. The EP’s first single “Out of My World” sounds as though it could have easily been on a Smiths record but instead of Morrissey’s bitterly ironic lyrics, the song possesses a swooning and urgent Romanticism – it evokes the primal urgency of first love.
