If you’ve been regularly following JOVM for the past year or so, you may have come across several posts about the Miami, FL-based Albert Ovadia, a musician, producer and electronic music artist, who writes and records under the moniker of Red Traces. Ovadia has garnered quite a bit of attention across the blogosphere for an extremely cinematic and futuristic sound that bears a resemblance to Giorgio Moroder’s 80s output and contemporary artists such as Umberto and others.

Ovadia’s latest single “EVENET” is the last song of an series of songs with an overarching narrative. The songs take place in a dystopian and horrifying post apocalyptic future that bears an uncanny resemblance to our own present. Much like the previously released track, the song is comprised of ominous, swirling electronics and layers of undulating synths; however, whereas the other songs were purely instrumentals, this latest single pairs eerie atmospherics with plaintive vocals in a way that will remind some listeners to Depeche Mode
