I’ve been lucky enough to have seen quite a number of incredible things live and among the things I’ll likely remember for the rest of my life is this: the incredible New Orleans-based brass band, The Soul Rebels and the arguably the greatest living emcee ever, Rakim doing “Don’t Sweat The Technique” live at Brooklyn Bowl during The Soul Rebels set a few hours ago. As I’ve publicly mentioned on Facebook: when I rule the world – and hopefully that will be much sooner than later considering how things are going – i’d make it a low that every dope emcee needs to be backed by a brass band or a marching band on at least one tour or one album. It’d be for the benefit of all music fans and all hip-hop heads everywhere. I personally guarantee it.
