Live Concert Photography: Niia at Standard East Rooftop 1/27/20
With the release of 2017’s full-length debut I, the Italian-born, Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter and pop artist Niia exploded into the national scene, receiving praise from Pitchfork, The Guardian, Los Angeles Times and The New York Times, who once wrote that she “creates trip-hop that strips away the pomp, leaving only the ooze.” Building upon a growing profile, the Italian-born, Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter and pop artist has collaborated with Gallant and Jazmine Sullivan — and she has shared stages with The xx and Jorja Smith.
Co-produced by Niia and Rhye‘s Robin Hannibal, the rising pop artist’s sophomore album II: La Bella Vita is slated for release next Friday and the album reportedly is a heart-on-sleeve statement about falling out of love and the emotional scares love leaves behind.
Late last month, the Italian-born, Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter and pop artist played an intimate set at The Standard East’s Rooftop — and while being her first New York show in three years, the set was centered around the material on her soon-to-be released album.
