Boston-based indie folk duo Tall Heights released their highly anticipated and critically applauded full-length debut Neptune through Sony Music Masterworks, an effort that has built up on the buzz that the band has already received throughout the year so far as album single “Spirit Cold” recently received over 7 million streams on Spotify; in fact, the single has seen overalls streams grow over 600% in the past two months — and receive over 880,000 streams last week.
The duo announced recently announced that they would be embarking on a national tour that will include an October 6, 2016 show at Mercury Lounge — and you can see more tour dates below. Along with that, the duo released footage from their City Winery “One On One” Cellar Session, which featured a re-arranged cover of St. Vincent’s “Year of the Tiger” to accommodate cello, acoustic guitar and drum machine — and the end result is a somewhat straightforward yet twangy and rootsy cover that retains the song’s moody irony.
