Moderat is the collaboration between two of Berlin, Germany’s most innovative electronic music artists Apparat (a.k.a. Sascha Ring) and Modeselektor (a.k.a. Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary). And as a unit, the trio has managed to meld their sound to create an entirely unique but familiar sound – you’ll hear the slick pop hooks that Apparat has been known for and the big, throbbing bass that Modeselektor has been known for. In some way, “Bad Kingdom,” the latest single off the trio’s new album (an album which Mute Records will release on August 6th)  may remind you quite a bit of the Chemical Brothers, thanks in part to it’s accessible, pop sensibility.

The official video which comprises of gorgeously intricate hand-drawn drawings tells a complex story of modern life, complete with greed, corruption and murder.

The trio will be making a North American tour with stops at the Electric Zoo Festival in August, as well as stops in Seattle, WA; Los Angeles, CA; and Montreal, QC.
