New Orleans, LA-based singer/songwriter Carsie Blanton’s sound can be described in some way as American pop – and that shouldn’t be very surprising since Blanton has publicly described her infatuation with the legendary Billie Holiday and NIna Simone. But her sound also draws heavily from the classic rock sound of Elvis Costello, in particular. “Under Your Thumb” is her latest single off her album, idiot Heart. 

She’ll be playing at SXSW as a showcase artist, and i think you’ll hear a lot more of her during the rest of the year, especially since this single is incredibly charming, witty and downright brassy.
