Singer/songwriter Kwesi K is of Ghanian heritage and has spent time in Alaska and Ohio, and as an artist, he’s been praised by critics and bloggers for a sound that uses elements across the African Diaspora – naturally you’ll hear elements of soul, R&B, folk. and others. His delivery as you’ll hear on “Pronouns,” the EP title track of his last effort, Pronouns will remind you a little bit (emphasis on a little bit) of Bill Withers and of Michael Kiwanuka in the sense that Kwesi K’s delivery is soulful but easy-going, introspective and profound without being pretentious. Just from this one song, there’s a sense that the lyrics come from lived in experience. But also the song manages to possess a grown, sultry seductiveness that’s irresistible.
