Slated for a May 20 release, RS1403 EP is the much-anticipated follow up to Alex Smoke’s Dust EP, and the first single “Green Man” is comprised of a skittering percussion and synths, and Smoke’s vocals fed though vocoder. In some way, the song bears a resemblance to Boys Noize’s “ICH R U,” in the sense that it sounds like a computer whose hard drive is just about to give up the ghost; however, Smoke’s latest track manages to possess a mesmerizing melody and is much more subtle – almost to the point of minimalism.
