“Special” is the second single from the collaboration between DJs and producers Airbird and Napolian, and the track is a club banger with stuttering drums, a pasted collage of oddly pitched vocal samples, which buzzes with a barely contained energy. Interestingly, the track also reminds me quite a bit of 80s R&B and late 80s/early 90s house music – it’s the sort of track I would have heard back on WBLS’ late Saturday night broadcasts from the Shadow or someplace like that.
