The Berlin, Germany-based label and music publisher, Snowhite Records and its Public Relations division, Snowhite PR works with number of artists known across Germany, Switzerland and Austria, as well as several acts known on this side of the Atlantic including — The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Anika, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, The Sounds and Highasakite.
The Berlin-based label’s latest signing is an up-and-coming German, indie garage band Snøffeltøffs. And their latest single “Dig It (And Put Up On It)” sonically bears a resemblance to Raccoon Fighter and others – it’s a very grungy, 60s sounds that owes a debt to the likes of The Castaways, The Animals and others.
Personally, the song immediately reminded me of spending hours in The Library Bar, Sophie’s, The Double Down Saloon and even Alt Coffee. It captures a Lower East Side and a New York for me that I can’t ever get back, and it makes me feel a complex array of emotions – sadness for never having that bad and a sense of pride of spending time at places that have irrevocably changed.
