The Los Angeles-based vocals Evan Mellows grew up in a home in which his folks listened to the work of the legendary Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Luther Vandross and others; however, as he got older, he fell in love with the Smiths, Nirvana, Radiohead and their work helped to influence  his work lyrically. And along with collaborator, producer and childhood friend, David Burris, Mellows’ sound manages to bear a resemblance to contemporaries such as Dream Koala, Beacon and Kid A-era Radiohead – all of their work manages to posses a stark, icy minimalism with a pensive, introspective sort of anxiousness as you’ll hear on his latest single, “Seven."
