Those who know me very well — okay, even those who don’t know as well — know that I’m a huge fan of The Verve. And while today may forever be marked by unimaginable horror and tragedy, I think the key lesson of the day should be that we must cherish life and all of the things that make us human.
Every day someone is celebrating a birthday. As it turns out today Richard Ashcroft, the former frontman of my beloved Verve turns 50 today. 50! His work with The Verve means the world to me — and I hope I can thank him for being part of music that has comforted me in my most desperate times and has transformed my life for the better. Happy birthday, Richard! May there be many, many more!
