Lisa Lisa and The Cult Jam’s frontwoman Lisa “Lisa Lisa” Velez celebrates her 59th birthday today. As a native New Yorker and child of the 80s and 90s, freestyle was part of the soundtrack of my young life. And there was definitely quite a bit of Lisa Lisa and The Cult Jam in that soundtrack.
